What could be better than to celebrate the 100th day of school with a STEM activity?! The inquisitive, curious minds of the kiddos in Room 104 worked together to build some amazing structures. They had 1 minute with their team to only talk and discuss their ideas and come up with a plan. Then they had 4 minutes to construct using only the materials in that station. To go along with celebrating the 100th Day, most stations had 100 of that item. There was a station with 100 plastic straws and 10 rubber bands...another station had 100 pennies and 10 $1 bills...another station had 100 linking cubes...another had 50 plastic cups...and the last station had 100 Popsicle sticks. I loved hearing their conversations and discussions. I also loved hearing "Well that didn't work, let's try it this way instead." They each knew they had a mission...a goal and they were determined to see the no result! They were so proud at their final products!!:) and I was EXTREMELY proud!!;)
Here are some photos of them in action:
