WONDERful WONDERS
Last Friday, we pondered the answer to the question "What is Labor Day?" and then we researched to discover the answer. We watched a clip from United Streaming and we read on Wonderopolis. Some of the students were surprised to learn what makes the first Monday in September a holiday. I always love hearing their thinking and then learning new information that they can "take away" from our lesson.
If you want to learn more, check out the Wonder here:
Why Don't We Work on Labor Day?
In Social Studies we wrapped up our unit on different types of communities and then we moved on to our Map Skills Unit. For our Wonder Wednesday, we thought about, wrote about, shared about, then added to our schema from the Wonder..."How do you read a map?" We learned several new facts and we got some neat "take aways" from this Wonder, too!
If you want to peak your curiosity, then check it out here:

I am excited about our Wonders for the week ahead! :)
