Thanksgiving is a holiday where we are more intentional about giving thanks! :) When asked each child what he/she was thankful for we had 21 different answers. The conversations that we had were so touching. It never ceases to amaze me what I learn from the hearts and minds of 7 and 8 year olds. They see some of the most ordinary things...what we adults sometimes take for granted...as the BIG things...the GRAND things...and what they are MOST THANKFUL for.
We had some fun this past week making a few crafts in regards to this special time of year. Through these fun experiences we learned a lot about each other and from each other. I am so thankful for each student in my classroom and the families that they represent.:)
Our room mom came in to do a special (messy) craft with them!! They loved making these special gifts to give away. They also did a writing piece and for each turkey feather on their craft they wrote something they were thankful for and why. What a memorable gift to keep forever. :)
